LikeTag Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 13, 2026
This policy applies to the LikeTag Chrome extension. It does not describe the separate LikeTag website or desktop applications, or the third-party websites on which you use the extension.
Camera access and local recognition
LikeTag requests camera access to recognize intentional hand gestures. Camera frames, hand/pose landmarks and recognition results are processed locally on your device. The extension does not record camera video, save camera images to disk or upload camera frames or recognition results to the developer or an external recognition service. When you expand the camera preview, frames and recognition information are shown locally in the extension side panel.
Camera setup briefly opens a camera stream to confirm permission and then stops that stream. Recognition starts only after you choose “Start”. Closing the side panel does not stop a running session. To release the camera, choose “Stop” or close the browser window where recognition started. Recognition does not automatically start when Chrome starts.
Website information and actions
To identify the current content and its reaction controls, LikeTag locally reads relevant page structure, accessible button labels, control states and page URLs/content identifiers. It processes this information to select the intended like, dislike, vote, bookmark, favorite or supported combined action. It does not upload page content or browsing information to the developer, and does not build or persist a browsing-history database.
Actions are restricted to the active tab in the browser window where you started recognition, while that window is focused. LikeTag uses the website's native controls; it does not bypass website authentication or permissions. The target website may send and store your reaction through its own services. Those website requests and records are governed by the website's policies, not this policy. Bilibili's native triple action may spend site coins under Bilibili's rules.
Model resources and network use
Recognition JavaScript, WebAssembly and model data are included in the installed extension package. Model data is downloaded by the developer during the build, not from your camera session. The extension does not send video or page content to a remote inference service.
Chrome Web Store distribution and updates, and normal third-party website activity, may involve network requests managed by Chrome or those websites.
Storage and retention
Recognition state, temporary preview frames and gesture calibration are held in memory rather than written to a persistent user-data store by this extension. Preview data is cleared when the preview is hidden or recognition stops. Temporary page-action state is used to avoid overlapping actions and is not a permanent activity log. The extension does not create persistent video recordings, reaction-history files or a developer-hosted user database.
Chrome manages camera/site permission settings separately. Stopping LikeTag does not revoke permissions already stored by Chrome; you can revoke them in Chrome's settings or remove the extension.
Sharing, advertising and analytics
LikeTag does not sell user data or share camera or page data with the developer, advertisers or analytics providers. The extension does not include advertising or analytics tracking. Any use of locally processed user information is limited to the gesture-interaction functionality described here, not credit decisions or unrelated profiling.
LikeTag's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
You can decline or revoke camera access, restrict extension site access through Chrome, stop a recognition session, or uninstall the extension. Restricting access may prevent recognition or page interaction. Camera preview is optional.
Changes and contact
This policy will be updated when the extension's data practices change. The effective date above identifies this version. For privacy questions, contact the publisher using the contact email shown on LikeTag's Chrome Web Store listing.
